A DNR vehicle permit is required to park on State Land.  Effective 10/1/2010 a new Recreation Passport will be available for entry to all State Parks for $12 when you renew your vehicle license plate.


Under the Michigan equine activity liability act, an equine professional is not liable for an injury to or the death of a participant in an equine activity resulting from the inherent risk of the equine activity.

We will review 2020 and discuss the future plans for 2021.
We'll discuss our event schedule for the upcoming season, the Blessing of the Horses will be June 5th.

Our camping weekend is scheduled for October 8-10, join us for a Ride to Hell.

Blessing of the Horse

Come enjoy a Blessing of the Horse and Rider with Pinckney Trail Riders.

Afterwards, take a Tour of the Trails, we will hand out maps with suggested routes for hilly ride or a less hilly ride, maybe you want to tour the trails North of Monks winding around the Zip Line trail, enjoying the beauty of Tanner’s Trail or climbing the big hill on Indy’s Way. Or you can stay on the southside and venture into the Fairy Forest which leads the riders to the town of Hell. Learn how the trails got their names and more fun facts about the Pinckney Rec Equestrian Trails!

PTRA cannot provide food for this event, so bring your own lunch to enjoy while on the trail or after your ride. Or ride over to Hell for some lunch and ice cream. The Blessing is free, donations are welcome and will help pay for the pastor and go to our upcoming trail improvements. Thank you!

Ride to Hell and Back

October 8-10

Wear your best Halloween Costumes for the Ride to Hell and dress up your horse. We will have prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place best costumes!!

Join us for a camping for the weekend or just ride with us for the day. We have 12 sites available for camping in the field behind the staging area.

Prices are for both nights of camping, single night camping pricing is not available.  

Hitching poles are available, as well as, a vault toilet and hand pump in staging area. Central fire pit for visiting, s’mores, kibitzing and enjoying music and laughs in the evenings!

Join us for a Ride to Hell and Back on Saturday, October 9th! A BBQ Lunch will be ready for our riders and catered by Hell Hole Diner, pulled pork, coleslaw, beans and cornbread. Bring money for your beverage of choice and Ice Cream at Screams. Mmmmm. Registration starts at 9:30am. Lunch begins at 11:30am.

Ride to Hell and catered meal:

$20 adults

$15 kids under 12

Do you have stuff lying around the house that you'd like to donate towards trail maintenance? Bring your like new or great used condition items with you (does not have to be horse related) and also your CASH and after the ride we'll have a fun auction starting around 3:30pm.

Sunday morning PTRA will provide a continental breakfast of coffee, juice and donuts to campers.

This is a huge fundraiser for our group which allows us to keep the trail and staging area improvements coming. The flowers are high quality and from a nursery in Michigan!
